Honoring Ashley Rukes: The History of Twin Cities Pride Parade

Ashley Rukes was a prominent figure in the Twin Cities LGBTQ+ community. She founded the Ashley Rukes GLBT Pride March, which is now known as the Twin Cities Pride March or Parade. Twin Cities Pride has been holding an annual LGBTQ+ Pride March in honor of Ashley Rukes. The march takes place on Hennepin Avenue in Minneapolis and proceeds down Hennepin to Spruce. The 2023 Twin Cities Pride Festival will take place from June 23–25, culminating in the Twin Cities LGBTQ+ Pride March Honoring Ashley Rukes in downtown Minneapolis.
